Companion Caregiver Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Companion Caregiver to provide direct observation and companionship to clients in their homes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide companionship and socialization to clients, promoting their overall wellbeing.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, food preparation, and other tasks as needed.
  • Document care given and pertinent observations accurately.
  • Maintain confidentiality and treat clients and families with respect.
  • Attend required in-service programs and exercise judgment in accepting assignments.
Requirements:
  • Be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Demonstrate ability to read, write, follow a written Aide Care Plan, and document tasks performed.
  • Be self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate dependability, tact, patience, and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to show compassion and empathy toward the elderly, sick, and disabled.
  • Prefer candidates with previous experience in providing care and companionship to individuals with dementia or related conditions.
