Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician I to join our team at Nilfisk Group. As a key member of our field service function, you will be responsible for providing technical support and repair services for our commercial and industrial floor cleaning equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair technical/mechanical equipment failures in the field, using standard procedures and protocols.
  • Assess and respond to situations, utilizing your knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Complete all required reporting, including service work performed, time sheets, and other reports as set forth by the Branch Supervisor.
  • Ensure spare parts stock levels in the van are maintained at specified levels.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; OR 5 years relevant experience and training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years prior mechanical/electrical experience in a similar or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with LV Electrical, Engine, Hydraulic diagnosis and repairs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated levels of product knowledge, preferably obtained through hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system trouble-shooting skills.
  • Must possess a demonstrated understanding of internal combustion engines.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and follow electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must have the ability to use a variety of basic electrical testing/diagnostic equipment, and have a thorough understanding of AC and DC electrical theory.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level is generally moderate.
