The Technical Proposal Specialist - Power & Renewables will oversee the creation of technical proposals and project cost assessments in partnership with the sales and engineering teams. The goal of this role is to deliver high-quality, competitive bids by utilizing tools to generate project deliverables and cost assessments. The Technical Proposal Specialist - Power & Renewables will also engage in ongoing enhancements of the proposal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all facets of the proposal process and timelines, ensuring accountability among all stakeholders.
  • Direct the drafting of response documents and cost estimates, collaborating with the pursuit team to guarantee input accuracy.
  • Collaborate with technical, sales, and field services teams to gather insights from all stakeholders.
  • Refine project scope to meet client requirements and ensure our proposals are clear and persuasive.
  • Maintain consistency across the organization for proposals, templates, corporate guidelines, and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Develop a proposal development plan (PDP), manage assignments, facilitate communication, and ensure overall organization of the proposal response.
  • Manage and facilitate subcontractor components of a proposal, if necessary.
  • Ensure the integrity of CRM data for opportunities in the development phase.
  • Lead internal meetings specific to opportunities.
  • Contribute to the creation of new processes, efficiency tools, and databases at both the team and company levels.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, structural, mechanical, or civil) or a related technical field in power or renewables.
  • 1-5 years of experience in proposals, project management, and/or engineering within the power or renewables sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Client-focused approach.
  • Solid business acumen in project management, proposals, and consulting engineering.
  • Self-driven with a robust work ethic.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong people skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain lasting relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software programs and add-ins.
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through abilities.
  • Capable of working effectively across diverse teams and managing by influence.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with uncertainty, with the ability to navigate ambiguity to clarify and determine a path forward.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in Canada.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $89,700- $121,300 CAD
