About the Role

Cogir Senior Living Canada is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our retirement residence team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the general management of our residence, delivering a superior "More Living" experience to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff to ensure exceptional service and resident care.
  • Efficiently manage all department operations, ensuring smooth functioning, strict compliance with collective agreements, and optimized fiscal resource allocation.
  • Implement and maintain policies to uphold industry standards and regulations while achieving financial targets with maximum operational efficiency.
  • Create a focus on sales and occupancy, ensuring the team collaborates to meet and exceed occupancy targets.
  • Actively promote the residence within the local market, showcasing it as the top choice in retirement living.
  • Set and monitor targets for employee engagement, resident satisfaction, audits, occupancy rates, and net operating profit.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, residents, and their families, fostering open communication and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years management experience, preferably in the seniors living industry, hotel, or hospitality-related industry.
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary team in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Strong understanding of business planning and processes.
  • Proven track record of achieving marketing, sales, and financial goals.
  • Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) within the last six months or be willing to obtain one.
