Job Summary

First Student, a leading provider of student transportation in North America, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Brampton, ON. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of school buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Diagnose and perform repairs on school buses, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other mechanical components.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Work Order Management: Complete work orders accurately and efficiently, maintaining records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
  • Quality Control: Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
  • Team Leadership: Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary, and adhere to First Student standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must have a valid Mechanic license and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: Must have experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and diagnostic techniques.
  • Skills: Advanced problem-solving ability, advanced computer skills, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
