About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team in Nova Scotia. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering programs and services to individuals and communities, addressing health inequities and improving population health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver programs and services to individuals and communities, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and health education.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address local population health needs and develop public health policies and programs.
  • Conduct health assessments, develop health plans, and provide health education to individuals and communities.
  • Participate in health emergency preparedness and disaster response efforts.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to promote health and well-being.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BScN) and registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN).
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in Public Health or Community Health, with 2 years preferred.
  • Certificate in Public Health Nursing an asset.
  • Nova Scotia Public Health Immunization Certification or willingness to complete.
  • Understanding of the Health Protection Act and other relevant Regulations, Legislation, and Acts.
