Position: Family Lawyer

Location: Multiple

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage family law files, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
  • Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, and provide expert advice to clients.
  • Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, and manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end.
  • Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, and provide strong judgment and work ethic.
  • Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, and the ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently is essential.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice.
  • Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills, and a desire to become part of the community served.
  • Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, and a willingness to commute to or from Vancouver three days per week.

Compensation:

  • Base salary depending on the year of call.
