Electrical Safety Stakeholder Liaison

Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is seeking a highly skilled Stakeholder Advisor to join our Strategy and Innovation group on a contract basis for at least 6 months. The successful candidate will report to the Director, Strategy and Innovation and will be responsible for supporting major strategic stakeholder relations projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting stakeholder projects and stakeholder positions, including publications and reporting tools, to support and promote ESA's corporate goals.
- Managing, supporting, and planning for ESA's Advisory Councils, including meeting cycle management and agenda development, minutes, materials tracking and distribution, liaison with council Chairs and members, and working closely with other business units.
- Providing advice and assistance in a functional capacity within the company on matters of ongoing market and stakeholder mapping and research studies, trends in the stakeholder and regulatory environment, and identifying best industry practices related to electrical safety programs.
- Research, write, edit, and produce communication materials for internal and external projects that support the development of Annual Report, Business Plan, Board documents, website, corporate presentations, and speeches.
- Demonstrated knowledge related to stakeholder and government relations, to support the initiatives of the department.
- Brings stakeholder relations support, including assistance with materials development for internal and external audiences.
- Proven oral and written communications skills to facilitate internal and external report/memo writing and general communications.
- Well-developed business acumen and the ability to understand ESA and its mandate, and how the Strategy and Innovation function supports the overall organization and its goals and objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building ability, as they will be the main interface with various stakeholders and potential partnership organizations.
- Customer-focused, critical thinker, and analytical problem solver.
- Experience gained in a regulatory and/or unionized environment would be beneficial.
- Organized, with exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to time management and keeping a project on track.
- Capacity to handle multiple projects at a time, working with various internal and external team members towards an end goal.
- Demonstrated computer skills and understanding of how to use social networking platforms in a business context.
The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is a Designated Administrative Authority, meaning the Ontario government has given ESA a mandate to improve public electrical safety. We regulate and promote electrical safety in Ontario, working towards an Ontario where people can live, work, and play safe from electrical harm.
