Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at The Wings on Flame Restaurant Ltd. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, supporting our culinary team in preparing and serving high-quality food to our customers.
Responsibilities:- Carry and replace linens, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.
- Load buspans and trays with food and supplies, maintaining efficient workflow.
- Scour pots and pans to maintain kitchen equipment and prevent cross-contamination.
- Package take-out food and portion food for service, adhering to presentation standards.
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars, ensuring adequate supplies and minimizing waste.
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, maintaining organization and inventory control.
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Sharpen kitchen knives, maintaining equipment and ensuring safe handling.
- Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining attention to detail and prioritizing tasks.
- Perform repetitive tasks, such as washing and cutting vegetables, while maintaining productivity and efficiency.
- Work in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve kitchen goals.
- Lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) of food, supplies, and equipment, maintaining safe lifting techniques.
- Client focus: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Team player: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve kitchen goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
- Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster, providing support and mentorship.
- Support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition, ensuring fair employment opportunities.
- Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, promoting cultural understanding and professional growth.
- Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth, promoting career development and personal growth.
