Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified French Immersion Teacher to join our team at St. Marguerite D'Youville. As a French Language Educator, you will be responsible for teaching French language and culture to students in the Primary and Junior Divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French language and culture to students in the Primary and Junior Divisions
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements
  • French as a Second Language (FSL) - Part 1 and/or other French qualifications as recorded on Ontario College of Teachers Certificate (OCT)
  • High degree of oral and written proficiency in the French language
  • Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in the Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division
  • Trained in the Accelerated Integrated Method (AIM/Gestures)
  • FSL - Part 2 or Specialist qualification
  • Knowledge of Balance Literacy and Numeracy practices in the Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a French Immersion setting
  • Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and assessment practices
  • Experience with technology integration in the classroom
