Mental Health Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Professional to join our team at the University of Toronto's Health & Counselling Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert counselling and psychotherapy services to students, with a focus on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of 2SLGBTQIA+ students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students, including those in crisis, and make referrals to appropriate resources as needed.
- Assess the mental health needs of clients and develop effective treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for students.
- Develop and deliver training and workshops on mental health topics, including those specific to 2SLGBTQIA+ students.
- Participate in outreach programs and events to promote mental health awareness and support.
- Master's degree in social work or counselling/psychotherapy and registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
- Minimum five years of clinical counselling experience, with a focus on working with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and young adults.
- Experience working in a community mental health setting, with a focus on crisis counselling and brief or short-term therapy.
- Strong knowledge of mental health issues affecting 2SLGBTQIA+ students, including depression, anxiety, identity, social relationships, and trauma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
