Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Manager, Standards and Innovation to join our team at Placementpros. This role will be responsible for managing the intake, evaluation, and notification of successful and unsuccessful research proposals, ensuring the quality of all research reports, and promoting research publications and other research program activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Proposal Management: Manage the intake, evaluation, and notification of successful and unsuccessful research proposals, ensuring that all proposals meet the required standards and are aligned with the company's research goals.
  • Research Report Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of all research reports by managing their finalization and publication from final draft to editing, legal review, translation as appropriate, and design process until publication on the company website.
  • Research Promotion: Work with internal teams to promote research publications and other research program activities, including the maintenance of the Communities Research site to promote research program, published and upcoming research projects, and other research initiatives such as the scholarships program.
  • Project Management: Manage select projects to source and secure appropriate research contractors, including the development of Requests for Proposals, vetting of applications, and development of contracts. Oversee and support other project leads in these activities, work with project contractors and advisory panel members to develop work plans of research projects, and ensure progress of work plans.
  • Scholarship Program Management: Support the management of the Research Scholarship programs (graduate and undergraduate), including promotion, intake of new applications, responding to queries, preliminary review of applications, and administration of scholarship recipient funds.
  • Standards and Innovation: Work across all standards sectors on a wide range of topics, requiring a solid knowledge of research methodology and publication standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate degree (e.g. Masters) with a focus on research.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in a standards or research environment.
  • Skills: Experience in developing and managing research projects, experience with publication of research, well-developed written and verbal communication skills, ability to review and prepare clear concise reports and other research material, professional and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and stakeholders, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills, and demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, discretion, and diplomacy.
  • Language: Proficiency in French will be given special consideration.
