About the Company

Forge Recruitment is a leading recruitment agency partnering with top companies in the legal sector. We are currently working with a regional multi-service firm in downtown Toronto to find a Regulatory Law Clerk to support their Regulatory Law Practice Group.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Regulatory Law Practice Group in administrative and public law litigation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing client documents and preparing affidavits and disclosure briefs
  • Preparing agreements and other legal documents under direction, often from precedents
  • Preparing hearing and appeal/judicial review materials in accordance with the Rules of Procedure and Practice Directions
  • Trial preparation, including preparing document briefs and compendiums
  • Assisting in the preparation of lawyers and clients for examinations and hearings
  • Scheduling examinations for discovery and preparing notices of examination
  • Reviewing and summarizing transcripts of examinations and preparing undertakings charts, refusals, etc.
  • Preparing charts, chronologies, and summaries of document evidence for use in hearings
  • Preparing correspondence
  • Acting as commissioner to take oaths

What You Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation or regulatory law
  • Post-secondary education with a Law Clerk designation
  • Excellent time management, communication, and writing skills
  • Knowledge of E-Discovery
