Position Overview:
This role is focused on evaluating and advising on land use and development projects, particularly in relation to environmental hazards such as flooding and erosion. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior management to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and recommend land use proposals based on potential hazards.
- Review private and public development plans, ensuring alignment with safety regulations.
- Provide critical flood information to stakeholders, including the public and various agencies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance planning processes.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- A Bachelor's degree in geography, land use planning, or resource management, or a relevant diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS and related geospatial tools.
- Experience in land use planning and hazard assessment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of hydrology and flood risk management.

Desired:
- Familiarity with provincial land use policies and water management regulations.
- Understanding of development bylaws and planning frameworks.

Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Willingness to travel as required for field investigations.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence is necessary.

This position is integral to ensuring safe and sustainable development practices within the community.
