Assistant Project Manager Job Description

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will assist the Project Management team in planning and coordinating project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for low to mid-rise residential building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and timely achievement of milestones.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documents, including contracts and progress reports.
  • Risk Management: Track project budgets and timelines to identify and address potential risks, ensuring successful and profitable project delivery.
  • Quality Control: Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure that construction meets all required standards and specifications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in securing necessary permits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Project Closeout: Support the project closeout process, including final inspections, punch lists, and client turnover.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally in an assistant project management or project coordination role.
  • Educational Background: Educational background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficient in project management software and tools, with knowledge of relevant construction laws and building codes.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Task Management: Skilled in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
