Payroll Manager

Key Purpose Statement

This position is chiefly responsible for the management of Asahi's payroll and HR systems, which entails collaboration with our external payroll and benefits providers. It is essential to uphold the highest standards for auditing and compliance. You will collaborate closely with the existing Payroll Specialist and Process Improvement Manager to oversee the processes and administration related to payroll and the onboarding of new employees.

Key Accountabilities

Payroll Management

  • Oversee the complete administration of our monthly payroll process, including the collection and auditing of all inputs for both the UK and Ireland.
  • Reconcile payroll, benefits, and associated data.
  • Address payroll inquiries from employees.
  • Ensure adherence to payroll policies and procedures while complying with relevant legislation.
  • Identify, investigate, and rectify discrepancies in payroll records.
  • Generate payroll reports for record-keeping or managerial review.
  • Prepare and supply pertinent data for internal and external audits.

Benefits Administration

  • Manage monthly pension scheme uploads and processing.
  • Assist the Head of Operations in designing, communicating, and managing various employee incentive schemes.
  • Support the annual pay review and bonus review processes, providing reports to facilitate budgeting and annual reward ranges.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including support during annual renewals, monthly administration, and communication with staff.
  • Cultivate vendor relationships with third-party service providers across the HR function.
  • Prepare data for annual benchmarking against other companies.
  • Maintain the Compensation module within Hops, ensuring all key dates are met annually.

HR Metrics Management

  • Ensure the HR Scorecard is accurate and up-to-date, tracking Headcount, Absence, and Talent metrics.
  • Monitor headcount and turnover reports monthly, communicating any shifts in expected trends.

Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in payroll management, with a solid understanding of payroll practices, auditing, and processing.
  • Familiarity with HMRC reporting.
  • Essential experience in UK and International payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices and legislation.
  • Experience with Dayforce / Ceridian is advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn and grow.
  • Self-motivated, with a commitment to delivering high levels of responsiveness and performance as part of a small team.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and drive results.
  • A passion for customer service, coupled with enthusiasm and energy.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to function as an effective team member.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
