Position Overview

As a Childcare Support Specialist at Livingskiesdaycare, you will play a vital role in nurturing and guiding young children in their formative years. This permanent position requires a commitment to fostering a safe and enriching environment for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Development Assessment: Evaluate children's growth to create personalized learning plans.
  • Housekeeping Support: Collaborate with colleagues in maintaining cleanliness and preparing meals.
  • Infant Care: Provide essential care including bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers.
  • Program Development: Design and implement childcare programs that enhance physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all daycare equipment is in good condition.
  • Storytelling: Engage children through storytelling and interactive activities.
  • Supervision: Oversee staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a high standard of care.
  • Communication: Synthesize and relay children's progress to parents and guardians.
  • Activity Leadership: Lead engaging activities, including storytelling, music, and outings.
  • Supply Management: Order necessary supplies and equipment for daily operations.
  • Record Keeping: Assist educators in maintaining accurate records.
  • Creative Expression: Encourage children to explore creativity through various media.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor children for signs of developmental or behavioral issues and report findings.
  • Behavior Guidelines: Establish and uphold behavioral standards.
  • Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Activity Planning: Organize activities for school-age children during non-school hours.
  • Supervisory Duties: Coordinate and supervise the activities of other childcare staff.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field.
  • Certifications: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Food allergy training, First Aid Certificate.
