At FortisAlberta, we foster a customer-centric and collaborative atmosphere where the safety of our personnel and communities is of utmost importance. Meeting our customers' needs and ensuring the reliability of their electricity service is critical to our mission.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Field Operations, the Supervisor Field Operations will be tasked with overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all distribution activities, construction projects, and asset management tasks in a secure and timely manner.

The Supervisor will lead and manage a proficient Operations team through effective leadership, communication, coaching, strategic planning, and organization.

This role encompasses all aspects of employee relations, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, terminations, and addressing labor relations matters.

It is essential to ensure that all direct reports, including apprentices, receive appropriate training and development opportunities, complete Blue Book task sheets, identify training needs, and regularly review or manage individual performance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the effective use of resources to fulfill customer demands.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership capabilities in operations, construction, safety, planning, organization, relationship building, conflict resolution, and delivering customer satisfaction.

A Journeyman Power Line Technician certification and a minimum of 7 years of experience in the construction and operation of an electric distribution system are mandatory.

Frequent travel or overnight absences may be necessary.
