Position Overview

The School of Environmental Sciences at Lethbridge College is seeking qualified Sessional Instructors to contribute to our dynamic educational environment. The successful candidates will report to the Associate Dean of the Centre and will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality instruction and developing engaging curricula.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach various course sections, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere that encourages student collaboration and creativity.
  • Design and develop instructional materials, presentations, and demonstrations tailored to diverse learning styles.
  • Guide and mentor students through their individual projects, providing constructive feedback.
  • Participate actively in faculty teams to enhance course-related initiatives and curricular development.
  • Maintain strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in conservation enforcement or a closely related field, combined with substantial industry experience.
  • Previous experience in natural resource enforcement, including roles such as Fish & Wildlife, Conservation, and Environmental Officers, is highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to effective teaching and lifelong learning.
Course Offerings

The instructors will lead courses in the Natural Resource Compliance diploma program and the Conservation Enforcement degree program, which are recognized for their industry relevance. The programs are designed in collaboration with agency stakeholders, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for various enforcement roles.
