Job Title: Early Childhood Supervisor

Zida Academy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Supervisor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Supervisor will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with staff, trainees, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure the delivery of high-quality child-care services.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed to support the delivery of child-care services.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Establish guidelines for behaviour and ensure that they are followed by all staff, trainees, and volunteers.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and ensure that the team is working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification.
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Medical exam, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check.
  • Own transportation or access to public transportation.
Work Environment:

The Early Childhood Supervisor will work in a child care centre, nursery school, or kindergarten setting. The work environment will be noisy, non-smoking, and air-conditioned.
