About the Role
We are seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team. As a Deli Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers always find the freshest hot and ready-to-eat meals. You will be responsible for upholding and complying with company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
- Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway's programs
- Processes cash register payments by cash, cheque, credit card, gift card, and debit
- Offers samples to customers
- Prepares hot and cold food, including sandwiches, chickens, salads, soups, and specialty trays
- Uses commercial power equipment, including slicers, fryers, and ovens
- Writes product orders
- Receives and rotates product
- Fills product showcases
