Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Electrical Techniques Instructor to join our team at Humber College. As a Professor of Electrical Techniques/Apprenticeship, you will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum for our Electrical Techniques Post-Secondary and Electrical Apprenticeship programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and deliver lectures, labs, and online courses to students in the Electrical Techniques Post-Secondary and Electrical Apprenticeship programs.
  • Develop and revise curriculum to ensure it is current, relevant, and meets industry standards.
  • Assess student progress and achievement, and provide feedback to students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement program goals and objectives.
  • Participate in program promotion and recruitment activities to attract and retain students.
  • Contribute to the development of industry partnerships and collaborative projects.
Requirements
  • Journeyperson Certification in Electrical Techniques.
  • Minimum 8-9 years of relevant industry experience and teaching experience in the electrical field.
  • Formal studies in adult or higher education, a Master Electrician, and/or Baccalaureate degree is an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate successful completion of a recognized Adult Education Certificate.
  • Strong teaching and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Knowledge of current pedagogical principles and practices, with a focus on student-centered learning.
