Job Overview

As a key member of our Estimating team, the Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting the Construction and Sales teams by providing expert estimating services. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this position will be responsible for monitoring budgets and overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Estimating team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production and estimating operations of Single-Family homes, ensuring timely completion of job files and efficient distribution of tasks.
  • Evaluate offers and send tenders to trade partners and suppliers, fostering strong relationships and staying current on pricing and options.
  • Review and analyze plans, conduct model estimates, and generate material and labor options to support project success.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to site and office staff, promoting a collaborative environment and establishing effective office procedures.
  • Prepare and sign off change requests, coordinating with Purchasing, Production, and Construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor expenditures and assist management with budget control, identifying cost-saving measures and preparing budgets for models, sales, and jobs as required.
  • Foster positive relationships with suppliers and trades, maintaining a directory of contacts and reviewing quotes to ensure competitiveness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of production or estimating experience in residential construction.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint) and estimating software (SupplyPro, BuildPro, NewStar, or similar).
