Mechanical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technologist to join our team at APTECH Technical Service. As a Mechanical Technologist, you will play a key role in assisting in the inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects, preparing design drawings and specifications, and carrying out mechanical tests and analyses.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare design drawings and specifications for mechanical systems, including tools, moulds, jigs, and fixtures.
- Carry out a range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components, and materials to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to design and develop mechanical systems.
- Estimate costs and materials for mechanical projects.
- Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings, and specifications.
- Supervise maintenance programs or operation of mechanical plants.
- Supervise, monitor, and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects.
- Test machines and equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Proficient in MicroStation software.
- Steel-toed safety boots.
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Applies accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities.
- Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
- Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
