About the Role

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead our team in delivering exceptional geotechnical engineering services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in geotechnical design, project management, and client development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical design teams in the development of shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, embankment dams, and other geotechnical projects.
  • Manage and coordinate geotechnical programs, including field investigations, geotechnical analysis, and report preparation.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve our services and processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on geotechnical design and project management.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality geotechnical engineering services and leading successful projects.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Strong technical expertise in geotechnical design, including experience with geotechnical software applications such as Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Settle3D, FLAC, PLAXIS, or similar.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Canada, with the ability to become a Registered Professional Engineer with PEO.
