Part-Time Casual Producer

We're seeking a part-time casual news producer to join our dynamic team at Rogers Sports & Media. As a key member of our newsroom, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality news content for multiple markets, working closely with our CityNews teams across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and find news content for multiple markets
  • Write and vet news stories
  • Line up news shows and take them to air
  • Assign news stories when needed
  • Collaborate with supervising producers for show needs/requirements
  • Locate visuals and materials needed to tell a story
  • Support and communicate with field teams (VJs, ENG)
  • Contribute to generating story ideas and pitches
  • Complete and vet all production elements needed for air (fonts, graphics, outcues etc.)

Requirements:

  • An insatiable curiosity and a passion for local live and breaking news
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Patience and a willingness to explore new ways of producing news
  • Strong editorial judgment and an interest in growing professionally in a fast-paced newsroom

Part-time, variable shifts, no selection, work location: 180 West 2nd Avenue (810), Vancouver, BC, travel requirements up to 10%.
