Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at Conestoga Meat Packers Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Procurement
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and delivery terms
    • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and negotiate contracts
    • Manage purchase orders, invoices, and payments
  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Supply Chain Optimization
    • Analyze and optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve supplier performance
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including production, quality, and logistics teams
    • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues and improve relationships
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. business, supply chain management)
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or a related field
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software
