Job Title: Personal Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Home Care Assistance in Barrie, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide resident-focused care that meets the needs of our residents, maintaining open communication with residents and their families. This role involves assisting with personal care, including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per residents' care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide resident-focused care that meets the needs of residents
  • Maintain open communication with residents and their families
  • Assist with personal care, including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per residents' care plans
  • Monitor and note any changes to patient care plans
  • Provide medication support and management
  • Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
  • Provide oral and dental care
  • Respond to all emergency situations
Requirements:
  • PSW certification (NACC certificate required if graduated from a private college)
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • Completion of Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Satisfactory professional references
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working in a LTC facility is required
  • Experience using Point of Care (POC) is required
  • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
