Black & McDonald's Mechanical Construction team is growing. We're seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate construction projects from start to finish.
  • Manage and provide scheduling, planning, and organizing of labour, subcontractors, and materials.
  • Ensure company safety policy is adhered to on all projects.
  • Liaison with project owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and tradespersons.
  • Monitor and increase labour productivity.
  • Responsible for Cost forecasting.
  • Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies.

Education Requirements

Degree or diploma in construction management or engineering and/or trade qualification or equivalent field experience.

Work Experience Requirements

5-10 years' experience in the construction industry.

  • Blueprint reading
  • Financial statements – read and comprehend
  • Established mechanical practices, procedures, and techniques
  • Applicable local and provincial labour codes
  • Managing/leading union staff
  • Organization and time management
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
