Job Summary:

As a Health and Safety Coordinator - Buildings Division at EllisDon, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and subcontractors on our construction sites. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement effective safety protocols, conduct regular site inspections, and investigate incidents to identify areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees and subcontractors on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of our operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in managing health and safety within construction.
  • Working towards, or already a certified member under the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on a large-scale construction site.
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.
  • College degree or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related topic.
  • Experience with COR process certification is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
