About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Hive Invesco Ltd. as a key member of our construction and maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimation and Planning
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Develop and implement project plans to ensure timely completion and budget adherence
  • Carpentry and Construction
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
    • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential and commercial structures
    • Identify and address any defects or issues with construction materials and workmanship
  • Work Environment and Safety
    • Work in a fast-paced construction environment with tight deadlines and large workloads
    • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in carpentry and construction
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and materials
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Work Environment and Physical Capabilities
    • Ability to work in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial construction sites
    • Physical stamina to perform manual labour and work at heights
