Job Title: Medical Clinic Receptionist

Ottawa Inner City Health is seeking a Part-Time Clinic Receptionist for the Ottawa Mission's Dymon Health Clinic.

Job Summary:

The Receptionist will project a positive and welcoming image of the primary care walk-in clinic. This individual will be responsible for greeting patients as they arrive, assessing the urgency of their medical needs to manage the flow of patients into the primary care clinic, advising clients of approximate wait times, and informing clinic staff when a client's condition changes in the waiting area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend to phone lines, respond to inquiries, and schedule appointments.
  • Perform administrative duties to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the clinic, including client records management, data entry, word processing, photocopying, faxing, shredding, and receiving and distributing mail and courier packages.
  • Track office inventory.
Requirements:
  • Completed a medical office receptionist or related diploma program.
  • Previous reception experience in a not-for-profit or experience working with a disadvantaged population is an asset.
  • Good people skills required, must be open, non-judgmental, and willing to learn.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong client service ethic to respond to diversity and support the vision and mission of OICH and the Ottawa Mission.
  • Ability to be assertive without being aggressive with clients and work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Up-to-date vaccinations.
Work Schedule:

This Part-Time role will include a mix of 2 weekday shifts and alternating weekend shifts.
