About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Reporting Account Specialist to join our team at CMLS Financial. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of reports provided to our investors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, with experience in securitization and mortgage servicing. You will be responsible for managing reputational risk by ensuring that reports are accurate and compliant with investor guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations in accordance with internal standards and procedures.
  • Complete remittance reports to investors in accordance with investor guidelines and contractual agreements.
  • Prepare remittance transfers to investors daily or as required.
  • Work with investors and/or custodians to meet existing reporting requirements and address any change requests.
  • Poll mortgages for sale to investors as mortgage-backed securities.
  • Prepare and submit all government required forms and documents.
  • Balance all sales and liquidations daily.
  • Complete investor setup on servicing-based systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Help identify gaps in process and work with the team to improve efficiencies.
  • Analyze, research, and resolve errors and reporting differences as communicated through reports, email transmissions, or verbal inquiries.
  • Support both internal and external audit requirements.
  • Comply with all internal standards and guidelines as well as all federally and provincially regulated policies and laws related to investor servicing, investor reporting, securitization, NHA, CMB, MBS, and privacy laws.
  • Support system testing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in securitization through MBS or ABS.
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing or related experience.
  • Experience in securitization and use of mHub is an asset.
  • Experience in securitization through MBS or ABS is an asset.
  • Highly proficient in Excel/Access.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, judgment, and integrity in daily operations.
  • Have a proactive approach with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Have high attention to detail.
