Job Title: Child and Youth Counsellor, Child Mental Health

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Counsellor to join our Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct care to patients and families experiencing acute psychiatric conditions, focusing on social skills, strengths, and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Provide direct care to patients and families, including assessment, treatment, and support.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to CYC colleagues and students.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and engage in evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve mutually agreed-upon goals.

Requirements:

  • Certified Child & Youth Counsellor Diploma from a recognized community college.
  • Baccalaureate degree in a related field, preferred.
  • O.A.C.Y.C. membership, preferred.
  • Broad experience in an acute psychiatric setting, preferred.
  • Bilingualism in French/English, an asset.
