Job Summary

CBS Parts Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Purchasing Operations to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing and inventory management functions of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Inventory Management
    • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
    • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, including receiving, storing, and issuing of materials.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and other terms and conditions.
  • Operational Logistics
    • Oversee the operational logistics of our organization, including the coordination of activities with other work units or departments.
    • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Monitor and analyze operational performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and train purchasing and inventory clerks to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they are meeting their performance expectations.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on purchasing and inventory activities, including trends, variances, and other relevant data.
    • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for process enhancements.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing and inventory management, with a focus on operational logistics and leadership.
  • Certifications
    • Partsperson Red Seal Certificate.
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, team members, and other stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in inventory control software, purchasing software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
