About Assets Protection

Our Assets Protection teams work to keep our guests, team members, and brand safe and secure, leading through crisis events.

They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guests.

Role of a Target Security Specialist

This role provides a unique opportunity to develop skills in:

  • Using intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure
  • Utilizing Target's video surveillance system

A typical day for a Target Security Specialist may include:

  • Welcoming and engaging guests and team members at the front of store
  • Leading a physical security culture by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store
  • Responding to and accurately documenting security incidents
  • Conducting productive merchandise recoveries and providing apprehension support as needed
  • Preventing theft and shortage at the front of store by performing receipt checks for exposed high-dollar merchandise
  • Submitting appropriate documentation in the system for all incidents
  • Understanding and appropriately using the video system
  • Modeling working safely while maintaining a clean store for guests and team members
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
  • Be flexible with your work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Be able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
