About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team at Hexion. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety programs to prevent injuries and illnesses
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with site leadership and employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks to employees, contractors, and the environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Provide support to site leadership and employees to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including OHS and CNESST
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
