Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Care Specialist to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert consultative services to healthcare professionals, assess and develop educational programs, and promote evidence-based wound, ostomy, and continence care practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultative services to healthcare professionals for clients with complex wound, ostomy, and continence care needs.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs within the clinical area.
  • Develop and promote expertise in nursing practice through methods such as reviewing literature, consulting with experts, and role modeling direct client care skills.
  • Provide direct care to clients with wound, ostomy, and continence care needs.
  • Participate in research activities related to wound, ostomy, and continence care and in the development of quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Two years recent, related advanced wound, ostomy, and continence care experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Institute of Canada (NSWOCC) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Education Program (WOC-EP) or the Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurse Certificate (WOCN).
