Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is a key member of the rehabilitation team at Mackenzie Health, responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with communication disorders and swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, and cognitive-communication impairments.
  • Provide dysphagia management services, including screening, assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement clinical education programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in a rehabilitation setting.
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with stroke populations and conducting clinical swallowing evaluations.
  • Ability to provide clinical education and lead inter-professional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
