The Engineering Permits Program Manager will deliver operational oversight and manage the daily functions of the Engineering Permits sector.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise one Project Coordinator and three Development Engineering Technologists.
  • Oversee and facilitate the daily operations in the processing of Engineering Permits, Site Alteration Permits, and Engineering Consent approvals.
  • Manage workloads to ensure an optimal level of service in processing permits to fulfill customer service goals.
  • Lead regular internal meetings to address processing challenges and customer concerns.
  • Collaborate and conduct meetings with various internal sections or departments, including external agencies.
  • Provide technical guidance in resolving issues related to detailed grading and servicing plans.
  • Commit to continuous improvement by revising standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Establish, gather, monitor, and report on permit processing performance metrics and key performance indicators.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer Designation (member of PEO in good standing).
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in processing residential development applications and/or engineering permits.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with development application tracking systems.
  • Understanding of site alteration bylaws and enforcement procedures.
  • Technical expertise and experience in private and municipal servicing for residential properties.
  • Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and formal report writing.
  • Must hold a valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License and have access to a vehicle for corporate business purposes.
