Job Title: Developmental Service Worker

Momentum Developmental Support Corporation is seeking a skilled and compassionate Developmental Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic individual to work in a group home setting, providing life skills workshops, housekeeping activities, and food preparation. You will also be responsible for providing suicide and crisis intervention, resolving conflict situations, and supervising activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement life skills workshops to promote independence and self-advocacy
  • Assist clients with daily living tasks, including housekeeping and food preparation
  • Provide suicide and crisis intervention, and resolve conflict situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings, promoting socialization and community integration
  • Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety standards
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset, but not required
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with physically demanding tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and management
