Job Overview
As a key member of our logistics team, the Shipping Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all outgoing shipments. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support our shipping operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming products from the picking area, ensuring alignment with packing documentation.
- Consolidate items from the picking floor with their respective orders for efficient processing.
- Generate Bills of Lading for all outbound shipments.
- Utilize shrink wrap to secure shipments on pallets.
- Manage various courier shipments through their respective online systems.
- Operate a pump truck to transport shipments to designated shipping lanes.
- Provide assistance to customers at the Pick-Up Window.
- Support delivery drivers upon their arrival for pick-ups.
- Maintain cleanliness in the shipping area, including the external ramp and dock doors.
- Engage in various projects as directed by the Shipping Manager or Shipping Leads.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role is essential, with a willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, as many packages are substantial.
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to sustain a high level of physical activity for extended periods, primarily in a standing position.
- Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal skills are crucial, as teamwork is essential for an organized warehouse.
- Forklift operation experience and certification are highly preferred.
- Proficient problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated personal accountability and integrity, as accurate inventory management is critical.
- Relevant customer service experience is advantageous, given the interaction with clients.
