We're seeking a skilled Coating Inspector to join our team at Aecon, a Canadian leader in infrastructure development. As a Coating Inspector, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our industrial coatings.

About the Role

  • Inspect and test coatings on tanks, vessels, and pipeline projects to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Apply and inspect coatings using various techniques, including spray and roller application.
  • Assist supervisors in field operations and troubleshoot issues with equipment.
  • Select and mix coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test atmosphere and coating thicknesses, and document results.
  • Perform holiday testing and document findings.
  • Coordinate with client representatives and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in coating inspection and application.
  • NACE Level 2 certification is required.
  • Red Seal Painter certification is an asset.
  • Experience with sandblasting and bristle blasting is preferred.
  • Experience with plural component pumps and airless spray pumps is an asset.
  • Experience with 100% solids epoxy coatings is preferred.
  • Experience with HV and LV holiday testing is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of lead abatement methods, protections, and testing is required.
  • Closely attention to detail is essential.
