Position Overview:

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist will report directly to the Senior Payroll Manager. This role is essential in supporting the payroll processing for employees located in both Canada and the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management for Canada and the United States

  • Oversee the execution of two payroll cycles for a workforce of 900 employees across Canada, ensuring thorough review and auditing of all payroll data to guarantee accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Address inquiries and manage pay practices effectively.
  • Collaborate with the US payroll team and Payroll Manager to collect and verify accurate data.
  • Facilitate payroll adjustments, retroactive payments, Records of Employment (ROEs), and any other payroll-related modifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in payroll processing is essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR functions and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to enter and review data efficiently.
  • Capability to manage sensitive and confidential information with the utmost accuracy, independent judgment, and discretion.
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality while handling HR records.
  • Experience with payroll taxation is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to respond to inquiries clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
  • A strong work ethic and a high level of integrity are crucial when dealing with confidential information.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with an awareness of appropriate response times.
