Role Summary
What does this role entail?
As a Commercial Banking Relationship Intern, you will engage in a proactive, in-person client relationship capacity within RBC's Commercial Banking division. This internship is designed to last approximately 9 months and is primarily conducted in a Commercial Centre. Throughout your training, you will be paired with a mentor who will guide you. This role equips you to provide exceptional, responsive, and proactive service to commercial clients, focusing on accounts, operational services, credit, lending, and deposits. Your development will include on-the-job training, self-study resources, interactive online courses, and classroom instruction.
** This position will cater to the Healthcare Professionals sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored financial advice and solutions that add value to your clients
- Utilize sales enabling tools, including sales planning, prospecting, and pre-call preparation
- Implement a continuous improvement mindset to enhance the client experience
- Formulate a needs-based sales strategy for all clients and prospects to increase revenue, strengthen client relationships, and ensure high client loyalty
Qualifications for Success
Essential Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in commercial lending is preferred, along with prior banking experience in a relationship management capacity
- A post-secondary diploma or degree, ideally in commerce or business administration, or equivalent experience
- Proven success in a business development role, particularly in acquiring new clients, prospecting, and cold calling
- Experience in financial statement analysis and computer modeling
- Familiarity with emerging communication technologies (e.g., web-based meetings, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications)
