About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to join our team at KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. in Burlington and St. Catharines. As an Echo Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic medical ultrasound images to assess the cardiac structure and function. You will work closely with our team of clinicians to provide accurate information to assist with patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality diagnostic medical ultrasound images to assess the cardiac structure and function.
- Conduct examinations in accordance with CoreHealth/Accreditation Canada, CMRITO, and KMH's protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Instruct or aid patients onto the examination table, using proper patient positioning technique, imaging probes, equipment settings, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Apply independent judgment and critical thinking during examinations to ensure that all appropriate data are accurately captured in the examination images.
- Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring examination rooms are properly supplied, equipped, and operational before, during, and after each shift.
- Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and in good working order, and assist in maintaining a current inventory of routine laboratory supplies.
- Work with cross-functional teams and other KMH staff to assist with patient care.
- Attend team meetings and updates.
- Maintain continuous professional development in Echo through self-study, including attending courses or seminars.
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in a similar role performing Echocardiograms, Stress Echo, and Contrast Echo is an asset.
- Current registration in good standing with CMRITO (College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario).
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance.
- Familiarity with GE Vivid machines.
- CPR certification.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Word and Outlook).
- Experience with EMR systems.
- The ability to provide coverage at both labs in Burlington and St. Catharines.
