Instructor, Practical Nurse

Salary Range: $60,300 to $92,616 annually

Nature of Work:

This role focuses on enhancing student learning through the development and execution of effective teaching strategies and environments. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, assessing student performance, advising learners, and engaging in college activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Planning: Identify necessary resources and operational priorities, and assist in scheduling classes to meet student learning needs.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with instructional teams to contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
  • Facilitating Learning: Deliver and assess instruction tailored to diverse learning needs, adapting strategies as necessary.
  • Student Assessment: Conduct ongoing assessments of student performance, ensuring effective communication of progress and maintaining standards of achievement.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a safe and respectful learning environment, maintain accurate records, and encourage student participation.
  • Lab and Practicum Oversight: Design and monitor safe learning environments in labs and during practicum placements.
  • Student Advising: Provide academic guidance and support, documenting and addressing student concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to program evaluations and assist in the enhancement of course offerings.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with certifications and engage in ongoing professional growth activities.
  • Recruitment Support: Participate in orientations and assist in promotional activities for the program.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues and participate in college-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid license as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
  • Preference for candidates with a degree in a health-related field.
  • Minimum one year of recent relevant clinical experience.
  • Eligible for registration with the appropriate nursing regulatory bodies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
