Position Overview

Kamloops Communications Inc is seeking a dedicated Electronics Technician to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or equivalent non-university diploma program lasting between 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Work Environment
  • Work may involve heights and outdoor settings.
  • On-site customer service in remote and rural areas.
Expertise Level

This role is classified at the Technician level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and service electronic equipment.
  • Conduct tests on power systems and equipment.
  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of electronic systems.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust electronic components.
  • Calibrate electronic instruments and equipment.
  • Support the building and testing of prototypes according to specifications.
  • Gather and compile operational or experimental data.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Utilize specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose and analyze the performance of electronic components.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in networking hardware and internet technologies.
  • Familiarity with communication and programming software.
  • Competent in using MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
Equipment Experience
  • Experience with telecommunication systems and radio communication equipment.
  • Proficient in using electronic testing equipment and communication satellites.
Industry Background

Experience in the telecommunication and communications sectors is preferred.

  • Testing, installation, operations, production, repair, and troubleshooting.
Safety and Security
  • Basic security clearance is required.
Transportation Requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle, as public transportation is not available.

  • Physical capabilities include standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.
