State & Main Bartender Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and charismatic Bartender to join our team at State & Main. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional beverage experiences to our guests, while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our upscale, casual dining restaurants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve beverages to specification, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience for our guests.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including the cooler and back-bar, and ensure that all equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Participate in closing duties, including server cash reports, running closing reports, and cash handling.
  • Take the time to learn and memorize new menu items and procedures, and effectively communicate your knowledge to guests.
  • Proactively assist front-of-house employees with table maintenance, running food, and taking payments.
  • Ensure that every guest leaves satisfied and happy with their experience, and address any concerns or conflicts in a positive and professional manner.
  • Be knowledgeable about allergy policies and procedures, and take proactive steps to ensure guest safety.
  • Work with a safety mindset, identifying potential hazards and taking steps to mitigate them.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of front-of-house restaurant experience, with a strong focus on customer service and beverage preparation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with guests and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of State & Main's core values and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Smart Serve certification is an asset.
