POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Speech Pathologist is tasked with delivering specialized speech-language pathology services to patients receiving home and community care. The primary focus is to enhance communication abilities and address swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and interventions for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for patients.
  • Educate patients and families on speech-language pathology practices and available resources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
Qualifications
  • Must be a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist in good standing with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Extensive knowledge of speech-language pathology services and community health resources.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or community setting.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and treatment methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare legislation and standards of practice.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple patient caseloads effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse groups, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in using technology and software relevant to the role.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for patient visits.
  • Advanced proficiency in both English and French is essential.
